Beliefs

This statement of faith, based on Scripture, forms the basis of what we at Winkler Bible Camp believe and teach.

The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired by the Holy Spirit.  We believe that the Bible in its original manuscripts is free from all falsehood and so is entirely true and trustworthy, having supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. They carry out distinct but harmonious roles in works such as creation, providence, and redemption.

Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  We believe that He was both God and man.  We believe in His sinless life, supernatural miracles, and divine teachings. We believe that He purposely died in our place to pay the just price for our sins, and that He physically rose from the dead, ascending into Heaven.  We believe that He constantly intercedes for His people and that one day He will return to earth to claim all who are His own.

Satan
We believe that Satan and his demons are created beings and the defeated enemies of God.  We believe that these demonic forces can tempt us to disobey God but cannot force us to sin.

State of humankind/Salvation
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, that we sinned and brought on ourselves not only physical death but also spiritual separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.  We believe that all people are in need of a Saviour to bring them into a reconciled, personal relationship with God.  We believe that this salvation is possible only through repenting from our sinful ways and accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.  We believe that all Christians should submit their lives to God’s Word (the Bible) and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Eternal Life
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people.  Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour will enter into an eternal life of joy with God, and those who have not done so will enter into eternal punishment.

The Christian Life
We believe the Christian life should be filled with joy and freedom. This Christian freedom is precious and needs to be protected, particularly in areas of moral temptation.  Since the camp provides so many opportunities for good personal and social recreation that benefits both the local Church and the community, abstinence is expected from smoking, alcohol, drugs, and all immoral behavior on the camp grounds, since these things hinder and distract us from representing Christ and living faithfully for Him in our society.

Spiritual objectives
We recognize the need for impacting our community for Christ through the following objectives:
* summer camping ministry
* Cross Current Discipleship School
* retreats and events that we run to promote the gospel
* rentals and outdoor education programs
